This new 20,000 square foot penthouse exhibition space is located on the top two floors of a midtown office building, SLS conceived of a unique layout for the main exhibition space by separating the galleries from the exterior masonry walls, allowing the spaces to float, and separating the art from the direct light. This created a series of ambiguous, light-filled spaces outside of the galleries, removed from the art but with views to the Manhattan skyline beyond.
HoV was selected to receive the 2009 American Architecture Award.
